Crystal Cove Alliance and Crystal Cove State Park offer a variety of innovative educational programs that explore art, science, history, and nature in the Park.  Crystal Cove's programs are always changing and offer some of the most unique educational experiences anywhere in the State.  Educational programs are appropriate for the whole family and most are offered free of charge.  Some new programs, such as the Great Plein Air Art Experience and Intermediate Plein Air Painting Workshop are offered at a modest fee.

Spend a relaxing day capturing the beauty of Crystal Cove on canvas! This program allows visitors to experience what it was like to be a plein air (open air) artist. We provide everything you need to create your masterpiece. No previous art experience required. NOVICES ONLY.

 

Class size is limited to12.  Please be sure to fill in Name/Guest Name to facilitate check-in.

 

Time:  5-hour course, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Dates/Instructors:  Saturday, September 10th (Alan Nowell, Instructor), Saturday, October 8th (Margaret Jamison, Instructor).

Cost:  $75 adults (16 yrs and older); $60 for current Crystal Cove Alliance members (If you are unsure of your membership status, please call Page Wolf at 949.376.6200 x 201 or email page@crystalcovealliance.org). All materials and a Crystal Cove tee shirt will be provided (please specify your tee shirt size below).

                Intermediate Plein Air Painting Workshop

 

                    

Join Plein Air Artist Margaret Jamison in learning the fundamentals of plein air painting.  The perfect step up after taking The Great Plein Air Art Experience.  Must bring your own supplies, including easel.  Class size is limited to 12.  Please be sure to fill in Name/Guest Name to facilitate check-in.

Time: 5-hour course. 9:00 am –2:00 pm

Dates/Instructors: Thursday, August 11th (Margaret Jamison, Instructor)
